Aquitania & Concha y Toro Tour
Chile is renowned worldwide for its wines, so we invite you to visit two of Maipo Valley’s most famous wineries. First, we visit the Aquitania Vineyard.
Aquitania Vineyard is a boutique vineyard located at the foot of the Andes Mountain in the upper Maipo. Aquitania is focused on the production of quality wines in low quantities. The owners of the vineyards are three French winemakers and one Chilean winemaker who decided to settle in upper Maipo, due to the excellent conditions of the terroir. |
Our next stop will be at the Concha y Toro Vineyard, located in Pirque, south of Santiago. The visit begins in the Don Melchor Square, where you will be welcomed by a bilingual guide who will lead you to a panoramic view of the vineyard. Accompanied by a glass of Casillero del Diablo white wine, you can immerse yourself in the aromas and flavors of this centennial setting.
Glass in hand; we will be able stroll through the mature parkland and gardens that go well back in time. Then we will be able to admire the Casona´s exterior, previously the summer residence of the Concha y Toro family, symbol of what is now the biggest wine making company in Chile.

In this tour you will have the opportunity to see where the best quality wine is made in the Maipo Valley. This valley is renowned for its production of Chile's best red wines, especially Cabernet Sauvignon.
Our first stop will be at Haras de Pirque vineyard, located south of the Maipo River, between 550 and 660 Meters above sea level. In compliance with the Denomination of Origin Law, Viña Haras de Pirque is located in the winegrowing region of the Maipo Valley, Pirque subregion, both classified internationally as producers of fine wines.
|
Afterwards, we will visit Almaviva Vineyard. Almaviva is the name of both, the winery and the wine produced by the joint venture between Baron Philippe de Rothschild and Viña Concha y Toro. The name comes from the Count of Almaviva in “The Marriage of Figaro”, a play written by Pierre de Beaumarchais and transformed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart into one the most popular opera of all times.
The Almaviva Wine is made from a blend of classic Bordeaux varieties in which Cabernet Sauvignon predominates. Chile offers its soil, its climate, and its vineyards, while France contributes its winemaking savoir-faire and traditions. The result is an exceptionally powerful and complex wine. Its launch was a major milestone in the development of Chilean wines, both in Chile and in the international market.
