Erika Schmitt Meister, as a Chilean native, was born in Punta Arenas, the southern most locataed city in the Chilean Patagonia. I know and love the land and their people. My father was a ship´s pilot who explored this spectacular region as a member of the Gunther Plüschow expedition of 1928. He fell in love with the country and stayed to farm in the deep south, where I grew up. After living for many years in Germany and the last several years in the Lakes District I know my way around and have contacts with people that many who are just tour operators.
